FOUNDERS

PASCUAL CASTILLO MOCTEZUMA

CO-Founder Kali Coffee Roasters

If there is a coffee expert, that person is Pascual. Since 1987, he has dabbled in this business, building an entire company from the ground up and gathering along the way an extensive knowledge of coffee, its processes, and secrets. He earned the nickname “Don Café” (Mr. Coffee) from the workers of Chiapas because of his passion for it.

PASCUAL CASTILLO SAUT

CO-Founder Kali Coffee Roasters

Exposed to the coffee business from a very young age, Pascual understood the resiliency and discipline it took his family to run a business and he decided he wanted to apply them into everything he did. With an entrepreneurial mindset, he became involved in COFINCAF by co- founding Grupo TOSCAF, which specializes in the roasting part of the process.

JUAN CARLOS GARCÍA GALLEGO

CO-Founder Kali Coffee Roasters

Juan Carlos is the youngest member of COFINCAF. He fell in love with coffee in one of his countless visits to La Fortaleza, where he spent time with Pascual Castillo Sr. learning all about the coffee business. His passion for the land and interest in the business pushed him into co-founding Grupo Toscaf which lead to the start of Kali Coffee Roasters.

CÉSAR GALLEGO

Partner Kali Coffee Roasters USA

For Cesar, a trip to the finca was an exciting opportunity to provide some helpful guidance to cousins Pascual and Juan Carlos on entering US market. As director of sales for a family owned food manufacturing company, Cesar has over 15 years of marketing and brand management experience. Over the years, he has worked closely with retailers and brokers to seamlessly launch new brands to the market and manage and position existing brands.

After that first trip to Chiapas, Cesar was introduced to the process, to the farmers who cultivate the land, and to the story behind the coffee. Not only was he hooked on Kali coffee, but he understood and shared Pascual and Juan Carlos’ passion for expanding their existing business and introducing Kali coffee to the US market.

We are commited to create community. From the people that help us to grow and harvest our beans, to the costumers that fill our coffee shops.
